Final Results

Well... I guess Steam Support never did get around to figuring out who hijacked sha-near's Steam account.  CAUSE HE WON!

Thanks everyone that soldiered on and played all five weeks.  I tried to make it fun but it's tough to make that judgement call when you've played the game as much as I have.

Special thanks for miendiem for the amazing videos he produced and reminding us that the difference between being good and great at anything is "attention to detail".

Final Results

Well... I guess

Not exactly the triumphant celebration of all things me I was hoping for, but coming from Oats, I think that's the best I'm gonna get  ;D

Thanks for putting on this contest, I had a blast and put 25 hrs into I game I had played 2 rounds of previously.  And miendiem, for all the extra tidbits and insights into the game that would have otherwise gone over my head. I'm just lucky I wasn't competing against your scores, it was hard enough trying to beat out those in the top 5.

Not sure how earned the win was, as had a couple people just posted scores I think I would've lost. Still, that isn't stopping this song from blasting in my head all day!

Glad you guys enjoyed it.  I'm about to sit down and do the final two videos (Last Stand - juggle vs. non-juggle), but here are a couple of non-commentated videos of other maps from the week to tide you over:

Forge - Campaign:

I believe I did this one for one of the Kickstarter weekly challenges.  Tough to remember, but it's more recent, for sure, since the music I picked to back it didn't exist when I was doing the older Video Tactics videos last year.

Crossed Signals - Poison Core:

This is an older one, from around the time Ganjafear and I started up the Video Tactics thread on the Steam DG boards.  Don't think it's actually my current high score, but the layout should be pretty much the same.

The two videos are done, the second is encoding, and then it'll be upload time.  The juggle video is incomplete, because I ran out of space on my (admittedly small) internal HDD.  However, it doesn't die until wave 30, at which case the entire build is done, and all that's left is more juggling until everything is dead, so it serves its purpose, and it can be easily checked at the start of each wave against the current resources at those points in the non-juggle video for comparison.

Currently uploading the juggling version, so the second link may not work yet.

Last Stand - Story - non-juggle:

Last Stand - Story - juggle:

And with that, I suppose we can say the tournament has come to its full and complete conclusion.  Congratulations Sha-near on an eked-out win.

I wanna say thanks too, I enjoyed it a lot ... apart from the final week, was just a bit too hard for me. I just couldn't get myself into the right mindset to proper sit down for a few hours and have a go at it, so I'm upset with myself for that, but I had a lot when it wasn't too hard :)

Well done sha-near :)
